Sandra Mackerell, LPC
Hello, my name is Sandra (she/her), and I use she/her pronouns. I identify as a white, nonbinary female. I am married with a son who serves in the military. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University. Although I attended a Christian university, I am pagan. I was raised in a working-class military family. I consider myself to have progressive values and embrace diversity in all its forms.
I have been trained by WPATH standards of care to write gender affirming letters of support and I believe everyone has the right to make choices about their body and how they experience the world.
I use various modalities, such as EMDR, Neurofeedback, and guided imagery; although, my primary approach is person-centered therapy with cognitive-behavioral therapy.
I love animals and have several pets. I find great joy in spending time out in nature and going on adventures with my dog. While I may not be originally from Oregon, I have made it my home, and the Oregon Coast is my favorite place to be. I enjoy going on road trips, hiking and camping. I am not an avid gardener but I love houseplants and I have a collection of houseplants that I have rescued over the years.
