Miriam Henifin

Intake Coordinator

Miriam (she/her) is the Intake Coordinator at Alive, where she serves as the first point of contact for clients looking to schedule an appointment with a clinician. With a background in advocacy, crisis work, and research, she brings a strong focus on equity, access, and community care to her role. Miriam holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Public Policy. As an Asian American woman and a hard of hearing person, her approach is grounded in lived experience and shaped by a deep commitment to the collective liberation of all people—especially those who have been marginalized, underrepresented, or silenced. This ethos guides her values and approach, shaping how she facilitates respectful, accessible connections to services. She understands that building trust and ensuring accessibility from the very first interaction is essential to providing support and care.

A lifelong Oregonian, Miriam finds grounding in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring the coast, taking dance classes, reading, and cooking meals with loved ones.
