Hi my name is Krista and I use she/her pronouns. I identify as white and female. I was raised Christian and identify as more spiritual now. My spiritual practices include utilizing the healing powers of the earth, cleansing energy, and thanking the Universe/God. I feel most connected to the Divine when I am in nature, especially near water. I practice Qigong on a regular basis and it helps balance me no matter what is happening in my life. I always felt like I didn’t quite fit in with my family. I was born to be a hippie. Being a highly sensitive person/empath I have found that spiritual practice and energy cleansing allow me to be my best self. My political views tend to lean Democrat and I was raised in the middle class in a small farm town in Oregon. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families since 2016. I love my job because I get to witness people heal, grow, and have aha moments in therapy. I also love my job because I get to sit with my clients in their most vulnerable state and hold space for them. Part of my job as your therapist is to create a safe place for you to express your feelings and thoughts. I use EMDR, Person Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques in my practice and my speciality is trauma. I love EMDR because the brain heals itself and takes you where you need to go. This modality can transform your life and clients report experiencing less PTSD symptoms and triggers as they reprocess their trauma and gain more adaptive information and coping skills. I believe every client has the capacity to change, and I empower and motivate my clients as I follow their lead. I am transparent, compassionate, and humorous.
