Kelly Trinklein, LCSW
My name is Kelly Trinklein, (she/her), I was raised in the PNW, in a middle class rural American family. I was raised Catholic, though I have moved on to a more spiritual path, identifying strongly with our natural environment and the mindfulness movements of yoga. I am a part of the last generation that grew up without the nuances and powers of technology, which helped me identify with our natural environment from a young age. I went to school in So. California where I earned my Masters in Social Work and where I experienced a majority-minority shift and actively began developing a deeper awareness of cultural identity, perspective, and the importance of listening to experiences different from my own. I have been married to my husband since 2008. We married young while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and together we are raising three children. Our journey to parenthood didn’t happen in the way we initially expected, and the challenges along the way shaped our family in meaningful ways. That experience deepened my appreciation for the complexity of family life and the resiliency people develop as they navigate life’s unexpected paths. These experiences have helped shape the therapist I am today. I believe it’s important for you to know a little about me, because meaningful therapy begins with an honest, genuine connection.
I feel that meaningful change happens through connection and an individualized approach to therapy. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust and grows over time as we work together. By recognizing and building on your strengths and life experiences, we can create meaningful progress toward greater well-being. I use a blend of different approaches including Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, skills training, and mindfulness practices.
I specialize in helping adults and teens. I am versed in working with depression, anxiety, issues related to trauma, and attachments; and have a special interest in working with individuals struggling with life adjustments, grief, boundaries, and communication. I believe in the power of patience and understanding and taking age-related circumstances into account during therapy. Morals and values play a vital part in the therapy room where we are building lifelong changes within ourselves.
Therapy is an opportunity to develop practical, lifelong skills that support your growth, healing, and well-being. I look forward to connecting with you soon.
