Message for Clients:
“Consider me your personal Mental Health Apothecary. Tell me what ails you and together we will formulate a therapy remedy to face your troubles at your pace and with loving-kindness. Your wellness matters. You, your relationships, your time and effort matter. To give your healing the attention it deserves, I keep my caseload intentionally sized to ensure that your therapy experience is well-considered, highly individualized, and effective. Life can get better. You don’t have to stay stuck. Let’s figure out the next step together.”
Q: “What’s it like to work with you?”
A: “I keep it human. You’re the expert in your own life, and I’m here to collaborate. I focus solely on you. Not a lot of spaces are like that in life, and I consider this work sacred. I truly love what I do—the growth and healing I have witnessed over the years has been a privilege to nurture. I respect the courage it takes to do this work and honor that effort by matching it.
I take a non-pathologizing approach, focusing on understanding you, rather than labeling you. I acknowledge that our bodies, treatments, inner worlds, values, and life experiences will vary. We’ll connect where we overlap, and where we differ, I’ll bridge the gap—feet down, eyes up, heart forward: I’m listening. Want to know more about this therapist to ensure we’re a good fit?—just ask. Have feedback about how our work is impacting you?—please share. This is a healing space, and your voice matters. I hold space for difference; I’m a student of critical thinking, nuance, and non-judgment; all are welcome here.
You and your story are not too much! I have a large capacity; you won’t overwhelm me or shock me, and I can follow many tangents and tie them back together. I leave lots of space for processing, and I balance that with directed, compassionate structure. I am not one of those awkward ‘hmmm-and-nod’ therapists. I’m engaged and with you. I use a fair dose of humour, and clients report that they appreciate my examples/analogies/metaphors that make concepts easy to understand. I love learning, and I’m honored that I get to do that while helping you finally feel fully at home in your life. So, yes… above all, I keep it human.”
