“My beloved child, break your heart no longer. Every time you judge yourself
you break your own heart…Do not fight the dark, just turn on the light,
and breathe into the goodness that you are.”
—Swami Kripalu
Hi my name is Corrie Piper, she/her pronouns. I identify as white and female. I am married and the mother to an adult child. I was raised in a middle-class family in a small town in northwest Montana. I am the first person in my family to attend college. I was raised Christian and have since moved to a spiritual practice, identifying strongly with yoga philosophy and teachings. Throughout my life I have struggled to feel like I fit, unsure of who I was and what I had to offer. Feelings of not being good enough have been a constant companion. My spiritual practice and connection to nature have allowed me to challenge these inner insecurities. I integrate client’s spiritual practices and resources into care as I feel these are valuable aspects of who we are as individuals. I believe in working with all aspects of a client’s being; physical, spiritual and emotional. Each of us is complex and unique.
I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have a passion for supporting transgender youth and their families. Why should you trust me as a cis woman? Great question; I believe that gender affirming care for youth is healthcare. I believe that it saves lives. I feel that as a cisgendered white woman it is my responsibility to speak up and advocate for those who do not have the safety and the ability to do so for themselves. In February 2025 I provided a written declaration as part of a multistate lawsuit against the Trump Administration’s executive order which sought to ban gender affirming care for minors. I cannot simply standby and allow others to dictate the care of another nor can I simply stay quiet as misinformation about gender affirming care is spread. In the gender affirming care I provide we explore your gender identity and expression while stabilizing your mental health. We connect you with resources, we connect you with community, we work to bring in your family if appropriate. Gender affirming care in my experience is a spectrum; it looks different with every person and can often change at various points in time. When providing gender affirming care to youth, I work to involve the family system, often parents are shocked and confused. They feel like they did something wrong to cause this. None of this is true and your child needs you. I can support parents in working through their emotions surrounding their child’s identity and expression to allow for a more full connection and quality relationship.
In addition to my work with gender affirming care I love the modality of EMDR as it allows clients to integrate past experiences and find healing in profound and lasting ways. I find that we all have experienced trauma on some level, which can change the way that we see ourselves and the way that we see the world. Through the innate ability to heal we all hold EMDR helps you make sense of these experiences that feel stuck.
I practice in a very collaborative way. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and through partnership we will help you connect to your full potential.
