Trauma is not what happens to you, it is what happens inside of you as a result of what happens to you.” —Gabor Mate
Hi, I’m Cherann, and I go by she/her pronouns. I’m a white, cisgender, straight married woman in the middle of my life. I moved to Oregon 20 years ago. I grew up in a single-mom military family. My own life challenges have fueled my desire to work with children, families, and young adults. I care a lot about making sure everyone has equal access to services and I love supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. I especially enjoy helping those who’ve been pushed to the side or left out feel like they belong and are accepted.
I really believe in working together. I pride myself on being honest, kind, and empathetic. I’ve got over 20 years of experience working with children and families. I started my clinical practice in 2020 after starting my Master of Social Work at Portland State University. Helping people connect with their inner selves has always been a main goal for me. I also have a lot of experience helping folks deal with chronic illness or pain, and it’s so rewarding to see them discover their strengths. I’ve been doing telehealth therapy for three years, and I also see people in person in Roseburg, OR. I enjoy both ways of working.
I love animals! I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and take care of 9 feral cats at my house. I’m also a bonus mom to a teenage daughter.
Can’t wait to support you on your journey to healing and growth!
