“Hope is being able to see the light, despite all of the darkness.” —Desmond Tutu

Maya Angelou said “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”  Often people come to therapy because they need a space where they can share and explore their stories and heal from past traumas and hurts in order to thrive today.  They may want to shed old habits, beliefs or behaviors that no longer serve them, to create relationships that flourish and are nurturing and to envision a purpose-filled future aligned with their unique values and strengths.  Julie is known for her gentle, welcoming and playful manner which clients find to be inviting and safe in order to explore the past, engage fully in the present and create a new path moving forward.

Often it is fear that stands between us and living our best lives.  Maybe you are ready to move beyond the stuck parts of yourself, to reignite your passion and to live a more authentic, connected life where your behaviors, work and relationships are in line with your values.

For over 15 years Julie has worked to help people heal from trauma, life stressors, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and other mental health challenges.  She is trained in many therapeutic modalities which gives you flexibility and choice to co-create a plan that is best for your life.  Julie draws from EMDR and parts work, Relational Neurobiology and Attachment along with sand tray therapy, contemplative practices such as Mindfulness and Yoga, Integrative Medicine and Nutrition and other cognitive and behavioral based therapies.

Prior to joining Alive Holistic, Julie worked in medical clinics, community mental health clinics, private practice, Eastern Washington University as an adjunct professor and she continues to offer clinical supervision to social workers working towards licensure.

When Julie is not working she can be found reading, hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, playing with her furry friends, poking around the garden and cherishing time with loved ones.

“This is a beautiful day, I’ve never seen this one before.” Maya Angelou
